Knocked Out Markers

 I haven't done much painting recently as I had to pack up all my hobby stuff and move it to my new home. I am now getting back into the swing of things however and have a much larger desk which will make hobbying just a little bit easier. My first task at the new desk was to complete a large batch of knocked out/destroyed vehicle markers for Dirtside II. Like with the dug-in markers I included in my last post, these aren't necessary but are a nice looking alternative to card tokens.

Assembly stage

The process was pretty simple. Tear pieces of cotton wool, glue to 15mm MDF bases and then spray black with my airbrush. 

I think I should have enough...

Dirtside II Rulebook

 After a chance search on Ebay last week, I came across an original Dirtside II rulebook with chits and tokens included. I put in a bid and was lucky enough to win. While I will use the physical copy of the rules, the reason I bid was for the chits. In Dirtside II, when a hit is scored, chits are drawn to determine damage. Up to now I have been using my own homemade chits made from paper but they are fiddly, so having the original card ones will make my games run a lot smoother. Slow Progress

 Slow progress with the hobby at the moment due to work and life. I have managed to get a platoon of infantry painted however... While I worked on these over the course of about a week, the time spent actually painting and basing was not a lot. I could easily get another platoon done in a couple of days if I find the time, one of the advantages of 6mm scale. Most of the work was in painting the clothing, but after that just a few spots of flesh and beige on webbing and they were ready to be based. I used Vallejo texture paste painted a desert yellow colour.  Brigade Models 6mm Polish Infantryman I also painted some MDF pill shaped bases to act as dug-in markers in my games of Dirtside II. I have card tokens for this job but I think the textured bases look better and are less likely to be knocked around the table (in the game dug-in tokens remain in place throughout, even if the unit moves away).
